Stay Peaceful Topic For Sunday, November 4: Peace and Happiness

This Sunday's Stay Peaceful will focus on the topic of Peace and Happiness.

We've heard much about happiness in the media in the last couple of years. So, Stay Peaceful will explore this "goal" that many people say is their number one value.

Depression has been called the 20th century's legacy passed on to the 21st century. In light of that observation, happiness emerges as the new dimension that many psychologists promote.

Some questions to ponder:

1. What determines the happiness of an individual today?
2. Is happiness a reasonable goal?
3. Is the pursuit of happiness something you do, or something you experience?
4. What is Gross National Happiness?
5. Can we measure happiness, or is it a definitive state of being?
6. What is the cost of happiness?

These and other ideas about Peace and Happiness will be discussed on the next Stay Peaceful.

I hope you can tune in.

Feel like you're rushing about town to get things done in this busy time of the year?

This Sunday’s Stay Peaceful will look at the topic of Peace and Human Transportation. This will be just the first of 2 shows (at least) on this topic.

With regards to human transport, some of the ideas that will be explored are:

  • What have advances in transportation technology done to our sense of space, of distance, of our selves?
  • What method of commuting lends the most peaceful experience?
  • What can we do as a community, as individuals to promote a more peaceful approach to human transport?

These and other ideas about Human Transportation will be discussed on the next Stay Peaceful.

Making Peace with the Past: Next Stay Peaceful

This Sundays' Stay Peaceful will focus on the topic Making Peace with the Past.

Many of us have difficult personal histories. Many countries suffer from violent and hurtful events in the past. Tragedies and disasters can come back to haunt even the toughest of individuals. From natural disasters like tsunamis to war to genocide, ghosts from the Past can be very real and very scary.

Societies struggle with reconciling the actions and tragedies of the past. It's as if some of us experience a collective shiver of remorse when reflecting on certain moments.

How can we heal those wounds, repair those scars, alleviate the ongoing suffering that stems from the Past?

Conversely, are there moments and events that are positive that we can bring to our individual consciousness, and even our collective consciousnesses, that can help in forging a positive experience now, and a more hopeful future?

These and other ideas will be explored on the next Stay Peaceful.

I hope you can tune in.

Stay Peaceful,
Jason

Peace and Friendship

As we enter the Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada, we often list things that we are thankful for. One of the recurring items on such a list is friends.

So, on the upcoming Stay Peaceful, 1pm Pacific on Sunday, October 7th, we will be looking at the topic of Peace and Friendship.

Some of the ideas that may be examined are:

How do friends help us return to peace in our lives?
What friendships are truly friendships and what friendships are really just acts of war or aggression?
How can we extend the act of friendship even wider into our community?
Can friendship be the real solution, or is it just a band-aid to what ails our world?

These and other explorations will be the focus on the next Stay Peaceful.

Local tune-in: 92.5FM, The X, Kamloops.
Online: www.thex.ca/home.php

I hope you can tune in.

Stay Peaceful,

Jason
