Peace and Protest, Part 2

On the next Stay Peaceful our topic will be Peace and Protest, Part 2.

Further to last week's show, this week's Stay Peaceful will continue to discuss ideas surrounding Peace and Protest.

We hear about protests everyday. Many large protest movements such as Occupy Wall Street and Occupy NRA and Idle No More have become almost de rigeur in our society. Protesters can be found on every continent, involved in practically every kind of cause. Many protest movements have to do with calling for peace or an end to war.

Some ideas that will be discussed further:
  1. What are the impressions that people have of people who protest? Are these sets of impressions accurate?
  2. How do we engage in protest without losing an attitude of peace?
  3. What is "peaceful demonstration"?
  4. How do the Occupy movements and Idle No More align with the ideals of peace?
  5. Can we protest as a means of achieving peace through consultation, or does the action of protest deny such action?
These and other lines of discussion will be examined on the next Stay Peaceful.

I hope you can tune in.

Stay Peaceful,

Jason

Peace and Connecting to Reality

On the next Stay Peaceful the topic will be "Peace and Connecting to Reality".

In our everyday life, we are often thinking of what is about to happen, what potentially might happen and what we wish will or should have happened. Daydreaming of "better" things, or worrying about "worse" things seems to fill our consciousness as we find ourselves not connected to the present reality.

Some ideas that will be discussed include:

1. the lure of fantasy,
2. the delusions we believe,
3. worry and its "payoff", and
4. the way back to reality.

This should prove to be an interesting show.

I hope you can tune in.

Peace and Becoming Authentic

On the next Stay Peaceful, our topic of discussion will be Peace and Becoming Authentic.

We live in a culture that seems to demand us to conform to some mythological ideal. Part of being at peace is being authentic to yourself, being "real" as some would say.

Some of the ideas that will be examined will include:

  • What are some of the messages that our North American culture promotes about who you are supposed to be?
  • How do we overcome those messages and move toward an authentic life?
  • What does "authentic" mean in light of achieving personal peace?
  • How does personal authenticity affect community and, ultimately, the cause of world peace?

These and many other ideas will be shared on the next Stay Peaceful.

I hope you can tune in.

Peace and Planning Ahead

On the next Stay Peaceful, the topic is Peace and Planning Ahead.

Whenever a new year comes, many of of us make plans to do things, or to stop doing some things, in the upcoming year. The idea has been captured by many in making resolutions. Whether or not you subscribe to the practice of making resolutions, the new year still seems to inspire planning ahead.

Some of the ideas that will be discussed on this topic:

  • What approaches to planning ahead are commonly practiced?
  • What does planning "do" to us?
  • Is planning ahead a tool for success, or defeat?
  • How can we employ the practice of planning peacefully?
These and other thoughts on the topic will be explored on the next Stay Peaceful.

I hope you can tune in.
